Hi Chantal, On behalf of me and my boyfriend I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and your husband for your kindness and advice. I really cant tell you how special our stay was there. It certaintly was the highlight of our trip. Im now back in the UK. I dont know what we would have done if we hadnt stayed with you first..we took your advice and we did the canopy tours, the pizza place, the waffle hut, we took a hike in the national park. You and your husband really are a credit to the tourism industry and not only were you super friendly to us but you also have the best self catering cottages ever! We really hope that we will be able to return again one day because not only do you offer a fabulous location but the cottages are truly perfect and i guess you also should be credited with price too. I think you have got it right and there are many places we have been to that is so not good value for money. We miss Punch too and now my boyfriend is set on getting an English Pointer! My email is genuine and my compliements to you are sincere, since i live in London and my boyfriend lives in Joburg its important to us that our time together is the best it possibly can be and Im so glad that we choose to stay with you. It was a perfect start to our week together, I just wish it would have been longer and as always i never want it to end. Now im back in London, I just have photos and memories and the time went so quickly, as soon as i get a chance to come back to SA ill be in touch to book again. This lovely, secluded spot is well worth the approx. 3kms. dirt road driveway! (The road is fine, really.) Views of the Drakensburg mountains are stunning. Cottages are well-appointed and comfortable. The little things can say a lot, and Vaughn & Chantal pay attention to these: strange as it may seem, the gorgeous-smelling handmade bath soap(lemon grass!) was a wonderful small touch of luxury, Vaughn coming to invite us to view their local browsing Eland, their so-friendly dog who is an eager companion on walks around the property...a great stay. - Wendy Faith, Lesotho |

Dear Vaughn and Chantal Our family weekend has come and gone and everyone had an amazing time. The accommodation at The Berghouse was perfect and everyone only had good comments about your establishment. It is such a pity we did not have time to stay longer. We could not have wished for a better location or facilities. My brother's friend visited him at The Berghouse on the Saturday for a few hours and was also impressed with what he saw and I would be surprised if you do not hear from him in the near future. The place is so private and quite and the Friday night star gazing was the best I have seen in a long while. Thank you very much for everything and we are really glad we had the chance to experience The Berghouse. SABmiller Corporate Goal Setting
We went to the Berghouse and cottages on our annual corporate goal setting. We had such an awesome time!!! The conference facilities were comfortable and the surrounding views-amazing. The talk the whole way home was that the venue choice was one of the best we have had and everyone was asking for the contact details as they want to come up with their families. It was absolutely awesome and Vaughn and Chantal were so accommodating and understanding with us! We made quite a bit of noise, which I would love to blame on the boys but us girls were definitely apart of it. We were just having such a blast around the fire! We will be definitely be back and will be passing on the contact details to all our other departments! Great three days but not long enough.
The cottage and views were as we expected them and better. You are allowed to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings and the welcome from Vaughn & Chantal put us at ease and one feels at home. The accommodation is informal, homely and welcoming. The views are spectacular and the walks easy or a bit more for those that exercise. The next time we visit we will stay longer and get involved in other activities such as fishing and biking and visit other places in the area. Keep up the good work and thanks for the rest. groete Stuur vir jou n foto waarop ek trots is en ek seker is jy sal baie waardeer omdat dit jou plek en jou diere is. Ons het een nag by julle oorgeslaap en was en is nog steeds in ekstase oor die hemel-op-aarde wat aan julle behoort. Kan net nie verstaan hoekom party mense so geseënd is en ander, wel kan maar net droom oor so fantastiese blyplek. Toemaar: al is ek vrek jaloers gun ons dit vir julle met ons hele hart want ons het waargeneem dat julle alles ten volle lief het en elke oomblik daar waardeer! Geniet julle plaas en veral die uitsig en dink aan ons arme drommels wat net nou en dan soveel skoonheid kan beleef en geniet. O ja, ons was die mense met die seun en sy Kanadese meisie uit Taiwan. Glo julle sal hulle nou onthou. Wil ook darem net sê: baie dankie vir n wonderlike paar ure daar by julle en vir al julle vriendelikheid. Alles was van 5 ster gehalte. Berg Holiday It was for me and my Family one of the best vacations we ever had. The stone cottage called"Thamela Cottage" was a great experience and I would recommend it to anybody who wants to relax away from the rat race. Making a fire in the middle of the "stonehenge" while the sun sets over the berg is an experience not to be missed. The view of the Drakensberg escarpment is wonderful. An unforgettable vista Our introduction to an unforgettable vista is a twisting gravel road that, although it appears challenging, deposits even the most low-slung sport model safely at the Berghouse. The stay at the Berghouse (our choice was the two-people self catering cottage) was restful and almost humbling in the presence of the majestic Drakensberg . Lookout points, an hour’s hiking (or less) from the Berghouse offers a 270 view of the Drakensberg that few other self-catering locations in the vicinity can match. The ponies are gentle on their inexperienced riders and the guides are experienced and patient. The 4x4 routes offers stunning views into deep valleys and take you to the banks of the nearby river, a perfect picnic spot.
