From Durban
Get onto the N3, Northbound, pass Estcourt Shell Ultra City service station, next off ramp turn left onto the R74 and continue passed Winterton, pass Bergville, continue on the R74 for 27 km's.Turn off left at the 4-way junction, Drakensberg World Heritage(Northern)sign, continue for 3 km's, turn off right onto the Berghouse unpaved driveway, continue for 3 km to the reception. Enjoy the mountain views!
Berghouse and Cottages

Romantic, comfortable cottages with views of the Drakensberg mountains from the windows of the cottages are offered at this 1650 acre privately owned destination.
Log fireplaces in each cottage with an abundance of firewood supplied and charged per bundle used.
These cozy cottages are all fully equipped with kitchens and kitchenettes,including ovens and stoves, microwaves, kettles, etc to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The cottages are serviced in the mornings only, cleaning fees are included in the rates. Hidden amongst trees and shrubs, these privately situated cottages are within walking distance of one another, Phinda and Thokozela cottages are adjacent to each other whilst all the other cottages are free standing.
Don't be surprised to see an antelope or rabbit walk passed the cottage, as they enjoy the open spaces around the cottages, during your visit.
Enjoy an evening sitting around an open fire at the "mini Stone Henge" under a wonderful starry Milky Way, with a glass of your favorite, listening to the unique African night sounds such as jackal barking, Owls hooting, Night Jar bird calls as well as the Mountain Reedbucks sharp whistle eminating from the hill slopes near to the cottages.
Experience a booming Drakensberg Thunderstorm, also nicknamed the "Dragons wrath" as the Dragon(Draken) bellows fire across the skies and the sound similar to that of a thousand drums reverberate from the top of the escarpment, you have to see it to believe it!!
Numerous activities are offered on site including hiking and walks of various degrees of difficulty starting from the door of your abode to mountain biking and Trail running routes.4x4 routes are also offered, however you will need your own vehicle. Guided horse riding trails between 1 and 3 hours, on Basoto cross ponies is a box to tick as these trails take you through some "World Class geography". If you enjoy fishing, there are 3 dams on offer as well as river frontage. Unguided White water tubing is also offered in the summer time, depending on the level of the water in the river. Prior booking essential for all activities on site.
All deposits to be made via electronic financial transfer, the balance of the accommodation must be paid 1 week prior to arrival alternatively in cash on arrival.
