Use this Berghouse guest information guide to prepare for your stay in the Northern Drakensberg. Check your cottage details, arrange meals and save your directions before you leave home.
Check your cottage and booking
Each cottage and suite has its own layout. Review the individual accommodation details for your chosen unit before packing. Kitchens, kitchenettes and bathrooms differ between units. Some accommodation is adults only, so confirm the booked unit suits everyone in your party.
Your booking confirmation and the terms and conditions are the places to check arrival and departure arrangements, occupancy, payment and cancellation requirements. Contact Berghouse before travel if you need to clarify a detail.
Arrange meals before arrival
Berghouse offers home-cooked meal options alongside self-catering stays. The dining page explains the set menu, meal choices and dietary limitations. Meal orders must be placed 24 hours before arrival. Please review those dietary limitations before selecting a meal plan.
If you prefer to cook, check the equipment listed for your own cottage. A kitchenette may suit different meal plans from a full kitchen. Bring groceries and supplies that match the facilities in your unit.
Plan your journey and packing
Save the directions and map before setting off. Allow time for the final part of your journey and keep your booking details accessible.
The packing checklist covers clothing and equipment for a mountain stay. Pack for changing conditions and choose your outdoor gear around the activities you intend to enjoy.
