Self-catering accommodation rental in the Drakensberg is a good choice. Cottages are fully equipped with kitchens and kitchenettes, open plan and fully electrified. Log fireplaces can be found in each cottage with wood provided at a small fee. Dinner Bed and breakfast is also an option, all meals are delivered with a smile to your cottage, try this option and be surprised by our chef’s style of country fare.

Accommodation halfway between Johannesburg and Durban, and an approximately 3 hour drive, will deposit you at this best kept secret in the Drakensberg. Visible from the elevated view point in front of the cottages, nicknamed "Mini Stone Henge", is Cathedral Peak.

The highest peak of the Drakensberg in South Africa, is Champagne Castle, standing tall next to Monks Cowl as well as Cathkin Peak, all these mountain peaks can be viewed from this destination. Maloti Mountain and “little Drakensberg” range joins the Northern Drakensberg Mountain range at the Amphitheater,forming part of the panoramic views to be enjoyed from the windows of the cottages.

Hiking Trails with various degrees of difficulty to choose from are offered on site as well as in the neighbouring park called the Royal Natal National Park, recently proclaimed a "World Heritage Site", 16km's away. Royal Natal National Park, offers some of the most scenic Drakensberg Hiking trails in South Africa. The main feature of the park is the Tugela Waterfall, claimed to be the second highest waterfall in the World. This spectacular waterfall can be viewed from the cottages in the summer.

Horse riding trails on "Basuto" ponies are used to take in our spectacular scenery, offering the rider between an hour to three hours guided outride on the estate. Look out for the Eland and other antelope species. Seven km's of river frontage and three dams, provide you with a variety of fly fishing challengers.

Mountain bike trails on site provide a challenge for all serious and casual riders and Trail runners. Berghouse Trail forms part of a 100 km's of mountain bike routes in the area Whilst visiting our venue, explore the Drakensberg Experience Route, situated at the end of the Maloti Route,a driving experience to be enjoyed with family and friends. Romantic -get- away in the berg, for those considering an engagement proposal, honeymoon treat, or an anniversary celebration. We cater for your specific requests.
