A truly stunning place to stay, absolutely everything has been thought of and everything is perfect, including (but I’m sure I’ll miss things):
– all of the staff were amazing and welcoming, including chatting to the owners, hearing about the history of the place and the area etc.
– the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Eat it. Eat all of it.
– the views are exceptional. We were in cottage 8 and I don’t think I’ve ever woken up to a more breathtaking view in my entire life
– the swimming pool is incredible (you’ll see what I mean if, I mean when, you go)
– great little hikes straight out of the gate
– perfect location for exploring the drakensberg (we did the Tugela Gorge Hike and the Cascades)
– great horse riding experience
– sold great coffee for our cafetière
– great recommendation of a nearby restaurant
– oh, and the actual cottage that we stayed in was just perfect. They are beautifully built, thoughtfully and tastefully designed, have everything you need and to be honest I wish that could be my actual home.

As someone who is lucky enough to have travelled to a fairly large number of countries over the years, I can genuinely say that this is comfortably in the top three best places I’ve ever stayed anywhere in the world (it might be number 1, I just need to let the dust settle a bit first…). Despite living in the UK, we will be back!

This place is simply majestic, has to be what heaven would feel like. The warm welcome one receives is wonderful, the views of the mountains are simply beautiful, the sunrise and sunset is definitely the best.

Our first time staying over at Berghouse and cottage. House is clean and classy. Our view of the Drakensberg is awesome. Very nice and friendly people, staff. Then our breakfast, wow dont have words. Will definitely come and stay here again.

Such a beautiful place. A paradise with a gorgeous view to the mountains. The Owners at very friendly and the cottages so beautiful. Pool with a beautiful view. We stayed 3 nights and would have loved staying longer. Sure we will come back one day
